Take a little time out this Christmas
With only 20 days till Christmas eve, the big day is well and truly in sight.
But the season to be jolly, in reality, can be a particularly stressful time of year.
Frankly if you haven’t had your Brussel sprouts cooking on a low light since April , don’t bother its too late.
However ,these 10 commandments to reduce stress (courtesy of www.medical-masterclass.com) could definitely apply particularly to this, or anytime of year,
Thou shalt not be perfect or even try
Thou shalt not try to be all things to all people
Thou shalt leave undone things that ought to be done (see Brussel sprouts )
Thou shalt not spread thyself too thin
Thou shalt learn to say “NO”
Thou shalt make time for thyself
Thou shalt learn to switch off and do nothing regularly
Thou shalt be boring, untidy and unattractive at times
Thou shalt not feel guilty
Thou shalt not be thine own enemy
An addendum to that would be my 11th commandment - book yourself or someone you know a massage.
A massage will benefit both your mind and your body.
The relaxing effect of a massage can :
Release tension in your muscles
Improve blood circulation
Relieve overall fatigue, soreness and stiffness
Relieve tension headaches
Boost your immune system
Leave you feeling more energised
Reduce the effects of stress
Improve your sleep pattern
Reduce the effects of anxiety and depression
Restore a sense of balance and well-being
So remember ,"thou shalt make time for yourself' , feel festive not frantic and enjoy.
